Artist's words

The string trio is as demanding as it is refined. Less common than the quartet, it offers a rare balance: three voices, three personalities, an intimate dialogue, stripped of ornamentation. An ideal playground for music that thinks, breathes, and stirs emotion.
It all begins with Bach and his Three-Part Inventions. Originally written for keyboard, these miniatures are true compositional laboratories: every line, every entry matters. Mozart studied them with passion, once saying: "Those who cannot love Bach cannot love music." Mozart is at the heart of this programme with his Divertimento K.563, a pinnacle of the string trio repertoire: six movements of striking freedom, blending elegance, humour, and depth. This is no mere divertimento, but a declaration of joy and love. Schubert rounds out the journey with his Trio D.471. In a single movement, his lyricism, tenderness and quiet melancholy already shine through. He looks to Mozart, but walks his own path.
Three composers, three eras, three voices. One conversation.
